What is 5 cent pixels?
You will see the main background image is made of 10,000 small blocks, each block is 10x10 pixels making a total of 1,000,000 pixels.
You can purchase these pixel blocks and place your own image/logo in them with a link to your site. (minimum 1 pixel block) for just $5 a pixel block equivalent to just $0.05 per pixel
Once you have placed your order (ie before Paypal or Moneybooker confirm payment) your pixel blocks will be reserved foryour pixel ad for 24 hours, which allows for any delays there may be in the payment processor notifying the server of the payment. Once notification has been received (normally within seconds or minutes) your image/logo and link will be added permanently to the 5 cent pixels pixel advertisement page and image.
Once your ads image/link has been permanently added no one else can place their image over yours.
5 cent pixels is automated, you size and position your pixel ad, view it in position and then pay via Paypal or Moneybooker and your image and link is then permenantly added.

My name is Greg Mathews. I live in the UK with my wife and 3 children and I suffer from Cerebral Palsey. I am currently self employed doing anything I can to earn a living, mostly online.
Why '5 cent pixels'?
A colleague of mine suggested this idea back in September 2005 after seeing Alex Tew's very creative "Million Dollar Homepage", the orriginal pixel advertising site, and I thought it might work. I wrote a perl script to run the site and to automate the whole process of running a pixel advertising site, including adding the links automatically. If you want to pay more then please feel free:) You're right, 5 cents a pixel is not a lot compare to most other sites like this. If I sell each pixel at just 5 cents each, with a minimum purchase one pixel block for $5 I could earn up to $50,000. Not such a small amount now is it?

No, I am deadly serious. I initially laughed at the idea when I heard it but then I found it was working, Alex Tew has sold in excess of $700,000 worth and I have since seen lots of simular pixel ad sites going online since. This could become the next 'mainstream' form of web advertising
Why are you selling by the block?
A Pixel is far to small to consider trying to sell, you would never see the image and the link will never get clicked on. A pixel block is realistically the smallest size you could use.
Why should I buy your pixels?
What's in it for you? When you buy pixels here you are investing in a web site that could get a ton of traffic from links on other sites and exposure. For a start we are one of just a few pixel advertising sites that has a Google Page Ranking (PR)
With your Pixel ad on the front page, that means a lot of traffic to your site. More traffic could mean more sales for you - if you are selling stuff on the net. You might simply want to buy Pixels for your loved ones, your pet, to spread a political message, find the love of your life, etc. Anything is possible with 5 cent pixels!
In addition to your ad appearing on here, our parent site CGIScripts4u displays pixel ad banners, made up of pixel ads from this site, on some of it's pages, giving even more exposure.
What kind of traffic will I get?
It is true that most of the clicks will be random, from visitors that are clicking on the images to see where they lead. This is not necessarily a bad thing, how often do people stumble across a site and think 'oh I was looking for that' or 'I need that doing' etc.
How long will it be before my image is added?
The system is set up so as soon as it receives confirmation from Paypal or Moneybooker that your payment has been made your pixel ad image and link will be added so you should see it appear on 5 cent pixels within minutes
How long will the site be around for?
The domain name is currently registered for 3 years but I plan to keep the site running for a lot longer.
Cerebral palsy is an umbrella-like term used to describe a group of chronic disorders impairing control of movement that appear in the first few years of life and generally do not worsen over time.
